BB and CC creams are everywhere, and if a brand plans to make a splash in the sector, it must deliver a great product. Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare contends its new option is more than just another medium-coverage, me-too foundation.

“This color correcting formulation is more than just a standout medium coverage foundation. With added anti-wrinkle and elasticity support ingredients, this multi-faceted product offers so much more,” Ami Shvartzman, director of education for Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare, told Happi.

Available in four shades (neutral, ivory, warm and mocha), the line creates a bright even tone with lifting and hydrating benefits. It restores uneven skin tones, reduces dark spots, and minimizes pores while offering anti-wrinkle and elasticity support.

The white cream base features microcapsules of color that burst when massaged onto the skin, leading to a perfect shade of fair, light, medium or dark, according to the company.

Key ingredients in the CC Cream formulation include titanium dioxide; adenosin, which as the ability to increase the production of dermal fibroblast proteins (elastin and collagen); and Usnea barbata (lichen) extract, a natural antibacterial agent, a potent anti-microbial and antifungal agent with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory benefits.

To really spice things up, the formulation also contains is Zanthoxylum Piperitum (Japanese Pepper) Fruit Extract, a source of antioxidants which are essential in preventing and repairing damaged tissue by slowing down the effect of free radicals on the skin.

This spiny shrub has traditionally been used as a spice in Japan, according to the company.

“It was brought to us to be used in this formulation mainly for its antioxidant benefits,” explained Shvartzman. “Japanese Pepper is a great resource for preventing and repairing damaged tissue by slowing down the effects of free radical damage.”

This CC cream rollout follows a recent strategic rebranding effort by the Evergreen, CO-based company that included new packaging, messaging and a new logo.

“Our main focus is on changing the esthetics industry as we know it with our doctor-developed, clinically-proven, natural solutions and inside out approach to treating skin conditions at the source,” said Shvartzman, who is looking ahead to 2015. “(The new year) will be a significant year of growth for us with new product launches, a new simplified message, and expansion in staff; the sky is the limit.”
